Owen Defends Nunez After The £85m Signing Netted Against Rangers

's has been defended by former club striker Michael Owen, who has insisted that the record signing has not done much wrong.
Nunez was on the scoresheet for the Reds in their 7-1 mauling of in the Champions League clash as he backed up his goal against in the Premier League on the weekend.
Manager Jurgen Klopp spent big money on Nunez to bring him to the club in the summer in a deal that could rise to a club-record £85million.

Nunez has previously admitted that he has struggled with the language barrier since his move
The Uruguayan international was backed to be a hit in the Premier League like Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who joined the Etihad-based club in a £51m transfer.

Haaland has been in sensational form scoring 20 goals in 13 games in all competitions, whereas Nunez has managed four goals in 10 games as well as picking up a red card for a head-butt on Crystal Palace's Joachim Andersen back in August.
While Nunez has recently admitted that he has been struggling with the language since moving to England and that on occasions, he can not even understand Klopp.
But things are looking up for the former Benfica man as he has scored in back-to-back games and now ex-Liverpool striker Owen has defended him.
Michael Owen has urged people not to write off Nunez so soon after starting at Liverpool
He told BT Sport: 'A lot of people are writing him off or saying, "Ooh, I'm not sure about Liverpool's new signing".
'I don't think he's done anything wrong for Liverpool so far, he scored against Arsenal, he played fine against Rangers - a lot of chances.
'We talk about time, [Roberto] Firmino's had plenty, cool in front of goal.

He scored against Arsenal, rik vip we know all about him, just a touch of class.'
Fans will be hoping that Owen is right as the club is currently languishing in 10th place - 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal - in the Premier League and that Nunez can continue hitting the back of the net in order to fire the club back up the table.
