Aug 9 (Reuters) - Gaming software company AppLovin Corp made an offer on Tuesday to buy its peer Unity Software Inc in a $17.54 billion all-stock deal, threatening to derail Unity's announced plan to acquire AppLovin's smaller competitor ironSource.

The short story is that 35-year-old Tate is a self-help personality who revels in misogyny. Purporting to extoll wisdom to men that helps them "escape the matrix," Tate has falsely claimed that women bear some responsibility for being sexually assaulted and that they have no "innate responsibility and honor."

Davidson said the latest update showed the 'unjustifiable' fall in Future's shares was driven by market jitters, not the performance of the business, adding: 'The business has transformed from a publisher heavily reliant on print advertising to a multi-platform media business generating the largest proportion of its revenue from digital advertising.'

Cousineau said that big tech's banning of Tate could reduce his impact but not erase it, as sites like Rumble provide a refuge for speech deemed hateful on other platforms. "Andrew Tate and others like him are not going to be exposed to millions of new people and get billions of views in these niche spaces, and the cultural impact of their rhetoric is necessarily minimized," Cousineau said.

"Further investments in areas that will strengthen the expansion on to PC, on to mobile and into live services, that's definitely a possibility for us," Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, told Reuters in an interview without providing further detail.

Roddy Davidson, from Shore Capital, said Byng-Thorne and her team deserve 'a lot of credit' for their turnaround of the business. And she has been rewarded handsomely, taking home £35.6million in the past eight years.

"You should think of collaborations on the game development side first and foremost, but it's also not unthinkable with our PlayStation Productions efforts that we explore opportunities," Hulst said of the FromSoftware investment.

"The proposed price for Unity appears well below its intrinsic value, and we would expect Unity to reject it for that reason," wrote Michael Pachter, analyst at Wedbush Securities. "We think interference with the ironSource acquisition is problematic, and will cause Unity´s board to tread very carefully before agreeing to a sale outright."

Shares of ironSource were down 11.21%. ironSource could receive $150 million in termination fee if Unity decides to walk away, according to the merger agreement. Meta booted him from its platforms for violating community guidelines under the "dangerous individuals and organizations" clause. A YouTube spokesperson said Tate was barred from the platform after "multiple violations" of community guidelines.

Her pay has attracted criticism, however. At Future's past two shareholder meetings, it has faced significant rebellions over a bonus package which could net Byng-Thorne, already one of Britain's best paid chief executives, up to £40million.

Before being banned, his videos racked up billions of views on TikTok and Instagram. His main business venture of late was Hustler's University, an online course for aspiring alpha males that taught lessons on crypto, stock investing and "freelancing."
