Sept 7 (Reuters) - GameStop Corp on Wednesday reported a smaller-than-expected quarterly loss and a partnership with FTX US to increase its presence in the cryptocurrency space, sending the video game retailer's shares up 10% in extended trading.

The company has since overhauled its management in an effort to reverse years of languishing sales and has been bolstering its e-commerce capabilities as online shopping accelerated during the pandemic.

'We played games together all the time, video games, card games, you name it. Even hundreds of miles away, for the past four years in college we still kept in touch. We'd hang out six to seven times a week just to play games together,' Wu said. 

"Since being here, since `15, every year we've gotten better. I see it in spring training, in the clubhouse. Better guys, better talent, and I think we just had to make that last push, and I think we did that this year."

The images come after a different AI that works in the same way produced bizarre pictures of the 'last selfie ever taken' that showed apocalyptic scenes of people in front of nuclear blasts, with rotting flesh and total devastation behind them.  
Team Asobi was sent its first DualSense prototypes back around early 2018, says Doucet, when the group was still busy making the PlayStation VR game Astro Bot Rescue Mission (which is one of my favorite PSVR games of all time). A dedicated DualSense team split off and started brainstorming clever things the controller could do.

"It's a really important game, but it's a still just a baseball game," Mikolas said.
"The strike zone is the same. I've faced the Phillies before, their hitters are the same. Maybe they are a little more locked in. I'm more locked in because it's the playoffs. Everything is kind of the same. It's just a lot more important of a game."

There aren't that many PlayStation 5 games that make the most of the DualSense feedback and triggers at the moment: Sony's Spider-Man: Miles Morales uses the subtle haptics a lot as a type of Spidey-sense, but not necessarily to transform gameplay. But those moments could come. It might take developers like Team Asobi to show the way, especially when a possible PSVR 2 arrives.

A playground of demos "A lot of games usually come from a narrative or a desire to tell a particular story. And in our case, the story is all about the mechanical device and its possibilities," Nicolas Doucet, Creative Director at Sony's Japan Studio, says about Team Asobi and how it made Astro's Playroom.
'He was destined to make a large impact in our world and while we have been robbed of this opportunity, I am still highly appreciative to have known him since 1st grade. Rest in peace, Varun. We will miss you dearly.'

The way the triggers give feedback, tightening up and adjusting, suggests ways games could use the tech for training, or as a guide. Doucet sees possibilities in "precision playing," but for Astro's Playroom the goal was to be simpler, more child-friendly. Deeper use of the triggers only comes in one area, where the crumbling blocks require some finesse to reach an optional goal. It's a start toward exploring other ideas.
