Gamers Boycott New Harry Potter Release In apos;anti-Semitism apos; Row

Whilst saying he was 'very impressed' with Niemann's play, he referred to the star's former coach Maxim Dlugy as the teenager's 'mentor', saying he 'must be doing a great job'.
Dlugy is a grandmaster who was previously banned from playing platform Chess.com for alleged cheating.

Gamers have decided to boycott a new Harry Potter release in an 'anti-Semitism' row over its 'Goblin Rebellion' plot which offers players the chance to battle 'oppressed race who are fighting against their own slavery'.

"On the aspect of prohibiting games of chance (e.g. gambling websites or apps) being played online, the proposed Digital India Act can include it in the list of prohibited user harms that will not be permitted," the report stated.

On PC gaming platform Steam, Cult of the Lamb has seen hundreds of thousands of downloads, and while Wilton can't reveal the exact figures due to Massive Monster's backing by UK-listed Devolver Digital, pre-sales numbers show the game has already recouped its investment costs.

The Stronger rapper went on to defend himself in the alleged conversation and remarked that he was a great admirer of the late fashion industry figure and was 'jealous' of what he achieved during his career, even as he lambasted his fashion designs in the same conversation.

Though the panel considered only online skill games, and not gambling, which is handled by states, it noted that many offshore betting and gambling websites that are illegal in India have become popular among Indian users.

The prize money on offer in top tournaments has helped to fuel cheating scandals in recent years. In 2019, Latvian-Czech grandmaster Igors Rausis was caught consulting a smartphone in a toilet to try to get an advantage. 

Chess.com explained that they applied statistical analysis to Niemann's games, comparing his moves to those a chess engine would make in the same position. A high correlation between the two strongly points towards cheating.

For online games such as fantasy cricket on Dream11, paid contests remain the popular attraction. Users can create their teams by paying as little as 14 rupees (17 U.S. cents), with a total prize pool of 7 million rupees ($88,000) up for grabs by winners.
